Extending the Lifespan of Useful Things
When items are worn to the limit of their structural integrity they are often discarded and replaced. Abandoned is the work that went into the original item, and forgotten are the hands that crafted it. By having your items repaired, rather than throwing them away, you are not only participating in sound, earth-friendly practices, you are giving new life to the item being restored. Emily is often able to create traditional, discrete repairs using similar colors and textures to the original items. Additionally, if you prefer to revel in the age and wear of your item, Emily is happy to add contrasting repairs in a sort of modern “wabi-sabi” approach to repair.
